IT Visibility
IT Visibility added the following new feature and enhancement in December 2022.
New Data Mashup feature lets you upload and report on custom business context data
This feature is available with IT Visibility.
IT Visibility’s new Data Mashup feature allows you to create unique insight reports that combine the normalized inventory and Technopedia catalog data already in Flexera One with custom business context data tied to your devices, hardware, or software.
In Flexera One, you can click IT Visibility > Data Mashup to navigate to a page where you can upload and manage data mashup datasets. On the Data Mashup page, you can upload your business context data as a CSV file using Hardware ID, (H) Technopedia GUID, or (S) Technopedia GUID as the reference field.
The field you use as a reference field depends on how you want to use the mashup data:
- Hardware ID is the reference field to use for data related to devices.
- (H) Technopedia GUID is the reference field to use for data related to hardware models.
- (S) Technopedia GUID is the reference field to use for data related to software.
Once successfully uploaded, your business context data becomes available for building custom insight reports in Data Explorer.
For more information about how to use these new data mashup features, see Managing Data Mashup in the Flexera One Help.
New Attribute added to Data Explorer: Is Private
This enhancement is available with IT Visibility.
With this release, customers may see a new, (S) Is Private, attribute in Data Explorer. This field supports customers who are participating in beta testing for a Private Catalog feature. When Private Catalog is released for general availability, the (S) Is Private attribute will differentiate the private catalog data customers upload into IT Visibility.
SaaS Management
SaaS Management added the following enhancements in December 2022.
Adobe Single app licenses now display in SaaS Management and IT Asset Management
This enhancement is available with SaaS Management and IT Asset Management.
Flexera’s SaaS Management team has enhanced its Hybrid Adobe Position with Flexera’s IT Asset Management. From the SaaS Management Adobe Creative Cloud Overview tab, click the view the hybrid Adobe position link to open the IT Asset Management All Licenses screen with the Publisher is Adobe filter. This screen allows you to view and manage your organization’s online and traditional desktop Adobe assigned entitlements.
Previously, Adobe’s Single App plan licenses and Standalone Application licenses were not differentiated in the SaaS Management Users and Licenses tab screens and the IT Asset Management All Licenses screen. SaaS Management now provides Adobe’s Single App data in a format that allows IT Asset Management to correctly display your organization’s Single App plan entitlements.
Adobe Single App license names now display a prefix of Single App- in the following Flexera One screens:
- IT Asset Management All Licenses screen in the Name column.
- SaaS Management Adobe Creative Cloud Licenses tab in the License Name field.
- SaaS Management Adobe Creative Cloud Users tab in the Licenses column.
Batch upload for connecting multiple Salesforce Orgs to Flexera One
This enhancement is available with SaaS Management.
Flexera’s SaaS Management now offers the organization’s Software Asset Manager the opportunity to connect multiple Salesforce Orgs to Flexera One via a batch upload. Using this new time-saving SaaS Management onboarding feature, the Software Asset Manager downloads a CSV file and enters the following information for all Salesforce Orgs:
- Organization Name
- Description
- Inactive Threshold
- Username
- Password
- Token
- Login URL
Once the Salesforce Org CSV file is successfully uploaded to the bespoke Salesforce integration setup UI in SaaS Management, the Software Asset Manager clicks Create Uploaded Orgs to connect all the organization’s Salesforce Orgs to Flexera One. For details, see Integrating Salesforce with SaaS Management in the Flexera One Help.
Mapping Salesforce contract SKU Name to license name in Salesforce portal
This enhancement is available with SaaS Management.
Flexera One’s SaaS Management Licenses tab now includes the Salesforce contract fields Contract SKU Name and Contract SKU Number. After you enter the Contract SKU Name and Contract SKU Number fields in the Licenses tab, your organization will have a more detailed and accurate view of cost and usage across all Salesforce licenses. For more information, see Auto-Populated Salesforce License Information in the Flexera One help.
Augment SaaS license data using CSV file import
This enhancement is available with SaaS Management.
The following SaaS vendor license information cannot be pulled into the SaaS Management Licenses tab after enabling the License Information integration task.
- Unique ID
- Contract SKU Name
- Contract SKU Number
- Amount
- Currency
- Payment Frequency
- Effective Date
- Ending Date
When this license information is not automatically populated in the Licenses tab, a considerable admin overhead is created to manually enter missing license information.
From the Flexera One Help, you can now download a CSV file to enter and manually upload your organization’s SaaS license information. Contact Flexera Support to have this CSV file uploaded into SaaS Management. For further details, refer to the Flexera One Help section Manually Importing License Information.
Improved CSV file for exporting SaaS users
This enhancement is available with SaaS Management.
Exporting SaaS user data from a managed SaaS application’s Users tab within Flexera’s SaaS Management provides an opportunity for Software Asset Managers to further analyze their organization’s data in tools such as Microsoft Excel. The exported CSV file from the Users tab now offers an enhanced format to enable the right decisions to be made by providing easy access to the required SaaS user data.
Software Asset Managers will now spend less time analyzing exported SaaS user datasets from the Users tab CSV file. To export SaaS user datasets, navigate to the Managed Applications screen, select the appropriate SaaS application, and open the Users tab. Apply the appropriate Users tab column filters and click the Export icon. All Users tab column filters are now retained to the exported data set in the CSV file.
