August 2025
Flexera One introduced the following new features and enhancements this month.
Cloud Cost Optimization
Cloud Cost Optimization released the following enhancements in August 2025.
Simplified rule management with dynamic value assignment
This feature is available with Cloud Cost Optimization.
You can now create a single rule to dynamically assign values from a selected dimension, significantly simplifying rule management.
When creating rules on the Rule-Based Dimensions page (Administration > Cloud Settings > Rule-Based Dimensions), you can now assign values dynamically from a dimension. Previously, only static text values could be assigned.
This new capability reduces the number of rules you need to create. Instead of creating a separate rule for each possible value of a dimension, you only need to create one rule that assigns the value from the selected dimension. With fewer rules to manage, maintaining and updating your rule-based dimensions becomes easier and more efficient.
For more information about the rule-based dimensions, see the following topics in the Flexera One Help:
Cloud License Management
Cloud License Management released the following enhancements in August 2025.
Improved Accuracy for BYOL Entitlements Available
This enhancement is available with Cloud License Management.
Flexera One has refined how the BYOL Entitlements Available value is calculated in the Licenses section to provide customers with a more accurate view of your license availability.
Previously, this number reflected the total number of available licensed entitlements from ITAM, regardless of usage. With this update, the calculation excludes cloud virtual machines reported by the inventory agent that contribute to the license consumption, ensuring the number shown more accurately represents entitlements that are still available for BYOL use. This update helps customers better manage their license inventory and avoid overestimating availability.
Flexera One SaaS Management
Flexera One SaaS Management released the following enhancements in August 2025.
Consumption-based metrics for Salesforce
This enhancement is available with Flexera One SaaS Management.
Salesforce subscription data in Flexera One SaaS Management now includes consumption-based product metrics. This enhancement provides better visibility into your subscription consumption and allowance information, enabling informed decisions for upcoming subscription renewals based on consumed and remaining units.
SKU mapping for Salesforce subscriptions
This enhancement is available with Flexera One SaaS Management.
Flexera One SaaS Management now enables you to add SKU names to your entitled Salesforce subscriptions. This enhances traceability by allowing you to map your purchased entitlements to their corresponding provisioned subscription names.

IT Asset Management
IT Asset Management released the following features and enhancements in August 2025.
Changes to supported operating systems and compatibility with other products
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
The following operating system version has been added to the list of supported operating systems on FlexNet Inventory Agent:
- Oracle Linux 10.0
The following product versions have been added to the compatibility list of IT Asset Management with other products:
- BigFix Inventory on Microsoft SQL Server 11.0.3
- OpenText Universal Discovery and CMDB 25.2
For the full lists, see Prerequisite Software and Compatibility with Other Products in System Requirements and Compatibility.
License key management enhancement - View license keys associated with specific users from User Properties
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
From this release, you can now view all license keys linked to a specific user from the User Properties page, making it easier to manage assigned keys within IT Asset Management.
A new License Keys tab has been added to the User Properties page. This tab displays all license keys associated with the user, either because they are the primary user of a device with an assigned key, or because the key is directly assigned to them under a user license.
A license key is considered associated with a user if:
- The user is the primary user of a device to which the license key is assigned
- The license key is directly assigned to the user. The new tab features a read-only grid showing all associated license keys. This is a user interface enhancement that surfaces existing data for improved visibility and management.
For more information, see License Keys Tab under User Properties in the Flexera One Help.
Use OAuth2 credentials for ServiceNow integration
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
You can now export IT Asset Management data to ServiceNow using your ServiceNow OAuth2 application credentials, Client ID and Client Secret, ensuring a seamless and secure integration.
Previously, IT Asset Management did not support custom credentials for ServiceNow exports, preventing users from leveraging their existing ServiceNow OAuth2 configurations.
With this release, you can now use custom ServiceNow credentials to export IT Asset Management data.
To support this enhancement, a new checkbox titled Use custom credentials has been added to the Integrations tab on the IT Asset Management Settings General page.
For more information on how to use this enhancement, see IT Asset Management Settings: Integrations Tab in the Flexera One Help.
IT Visibility
IT Visibility released the following enhancements in August 2025.
Business Services Insights report added to Technology Intelligence Platform reports for IT Visibility
This enhancement is available with IT Visibility With Technology Intelligence Platform.
The Business Services Insights report is now available as a Technology Intelligence Platform report, providing an overview of business services portfolios, by linking hardware, software, and vulnerability risks to enhance service resilience and operational alignment.
The Business Services Insights report empowers decision makers to:
-
Map infrastructure to critical business services.
-
Identify services exposed to high operational or security risks.
-
Improve lifecycle planning and patching strategies.
-
Optimize resource allocation based on risk and business impact.
For more information about the report, see Business Services Insights in the Flexera One Help.
Enhanced report navigation
This enhancement is available with IT Visibility With Technology Intelligence Platform.
From Inventory Normalization Insights, you can now drill down directly to view a detailed and granular data in native UI.
This enhancement enables an easier navigation to view underlying data quickly.
For more information about the report, see Viewing Inventory Normalization Insights in the Flexera One Help.
Enhancements to device and software contextualization workflows
This enhancement is available with IT Visibility With Technology Intelligence Platform.
The following enhancements have been made to the Contextual Data Mashup:
-
Domain is now optional for device contextualization
Previously, when a hardware ID was unavailable, uploading device data using the Device Context Mashup required the Domain, Name, and Serial Number fields all to be populated, and would fail if Domain was blank or set to "Unknown".
Now, you can upload device data even if the Domain field is blank or set to "Unknown", as long as Name and Serial Number are provided. The system will match devices using Name and Serial Number when Domain is unavailable.
-
Blank or "Unknown" values now allowed for contextual attributes in CSV uploads
Previously, if any contextual attribute of type int, uint, bool, float, date, or datetime was blank or set to "Unknown" in a CSV upload, the contextualization process for that hardware or software would fail.
Now, CSVs containing one or more contextual attributes with blank or "Unknown" values are accepted. The contextualization proceeds using attributes with valid data, while attributes with blank or "Unknown" values are skipped.
-
Contextual attributes named "ID" are no longer allowed
Previously, if a contextual attribute named "ID" (case insensitive) was included in a CSV upload, the data would successfully upload into CDS, but the downstream data flow to PowerBI would break.
Now, users will not be able to create a contextual data source with an attribute named "ID". This restriction is enforced at both the API and UI levels to ensure data integrity and prevent downstream issues.
These enhancements help streamline device data ingestion, reduce upload errors, and enforce best practices for schema design.
For more details about contextual data, see Contextual Data Mashup Overview in the Flexera One Help.
Normalization DQ Summary Statistics Report is now available in Power BI
This enhancement is available with IT Visibility With Technology Intelligence Platform.
Flexera One has migrated the Normalization Data Quality Summary Statistics report from Gooddata to Power BI, to deliver a modernized, scalable analytics experience. This improvement will provide customers with detailed insights into:
-
Hardware and Software Normalization Status
-
Recognition Status
-
