Managing Contextual Data Mashup

note

IT Visibility with Technology Intelligence Platform is required to use Contextual Data Mashup in Flexera One. For more information about what version of export you are using, see Versions of the IT Visibility Export Feature.

In IT Visibility, you can use the Contextual Data Mashup to augment your organization's inventory data with non-discoverable business context data you provide. On the Contextual Data Mashup landing page, you can upload your business context data as a comma-separated value (CSV) file and, when the CSV data processing has completed, you can begin working with these new attributes in Power BI. The contextual data you upload can be combined with your normalized inventory and the Technopedia catalog data on software and devices to produce unique reports tailored to your organization's particular business needs. For business services, your contextual data is combined with your normalized inventory to generate reports tailored to your organization’s particular business needs. The custom reports and insights built with your normalized inventory data and your contextual mashup data have the potential to identify business strengths and weaknesses or to illuminate behavior so you can make better-informed, data-driven decisions.

Similarly, these data mashup capabilities are also available via the Contextual Data Store API. Using the Contextual Data Store API’s search, query, and filter calls, you can programmatically upload, manage, and operate on the business context data you have in the Technology Intelligence Platform.

note

Customers who want to use data mashup but who have not yet been upgraded to IT Visibility with Technology Intelligence Platform: refer to Managing Data Mashup for instructions.
