December 2023
Flexera One introduced the following new features and enhancements this month.
Administration
Flexera One released the following new Administration feature in December 2023.
New capability for managing IP access
This feature is available with Administration.
A new IP Access Control page (Administration > Identity Management > IP Access Control) is available now for users who have the Manage organization role or Administer organization role to manage IP access by using an IP Access Control List for their organization. When the IP Access Control List is enabled, only the users who are connected from the IP addresses included in the list are able to access the organization. This new feature helps customers improve security control and align with diverse network configurations and compliance requirements.
For more information, see Managing IP Access in the Flexera One Help.
Automation
Flexera One released the following feature in December 2023.
Hyperlinks now available in the incident export table
This feature is available with Automation.
Hyperlinks in the incident export table are now clickable. This feature enables you to access supporting information within Flexera One or on an external system. Previously, you had to copy and paste the URLs to access them.
For more information, see Incident Message and Email Templates in the Flexera One Help.
Cloud Cost Optimization
Cloud Cost Optimization released the following features in December 2023.
IT Asset Management and SaaS spend data now available in Cloud Cost Optimization in the North American (NAM) region
This FinOps feature is available with Cloud Cost Optimization.
IT Asset Management and Software as a Service (SaaS) spend data is now available in Cloud Cost Optimization in the NAM region within cloud dashboards (Dashboards > Cloud) and Tabular View (Cloud > Cost Optimization > Tabular View). This spend data is already available in the EU and APAC regions. This feature enables you to analyze the total IT spend for software, hardware, SaaS, and cloud. Using the default dimensions, you can analyze the spend in the cloud dashboards and Tabular View. You can also use the tag dimensions and rule-based dimensions to create custom dimensions to analyze the spend unique to your cost center and line of business. For more information, see Tag Dimensions and Using Rule-Based Dimensions to Analyze Cost.
To ensure that you now have more visibility into your IT Asset Management and SaaS spend data, the following updates have been made:
- Flexera IT Asset Management fields—The
CostCenterandCorporateUnitfields are available as tags for cost allocation. - Flexera SaaS Management spend—This spend is available in Cloud Cost Optimization.
For more information, see Analyzing IT Asset Management and SaaS Spend in the Flexera One Help.
Azure adjustment credits (Beta Release)
This beta feature is available with Cloud Cost Optimization and is not available to all customers yet. If you would like the Adjustment Credits beta feature enabled in the user interface, contact Flexera Support. For more information, see Contacting Flexera Support.
You can now view your adjustment credits in Cloud Cost Optimization to better understand your cloud usage and spend. This feature enables you to access information related to adjustment credits, such as bill corrections, promotional credits, Reserved Instance (RI) exchange credits, and so on. This data is sourced from the Azure Balances API. For more information, see Microsoft’s documentation on Azure Balances API.
You can view the adjustment data categorized under AdjustmentCredit in the cloud dashboards (Dashboards > Cloud) and Tabular View (Cloud > Cost Optimization > Tabular View). The AdjustmentCredit references the value from one of the following dimensions:
- Usage Type
- Resource Type
- Meter Category
The Credit Description dimension provides a detailed description of the adjustment. This description is not available to all customers. To view the credit description, contact Flexera Support. For more information, see Contacting Flexera Support.
For more information about Adjustment Credits, see Adjustment Credits in the Flexera One Help.

Enhancement to the Private Catalog for software
This enhancement is available with IT Visibility.
Recently, IT Visibility released the new functionality of configuring Private Catalog for software. Users are able to manage mappings between software evidence and the Private Catalog from the Software Evidence page (Applications & Evidence > IT Visibility Software > Software Evidence).
Now, IT Visibility has a new dedicated Private Catalog Evidence page (Applications & Evidence > IT Visibility Software > Private Catalog Evidence), which provides better visibility into software evidence. On this new page, you can view software evidence by type as well as manage the mappings between evidence and the Private Catalog.
For more information, see Working With the Private Catalog in the Flexera One Help.
Change to Software Evidence count column name
As part of this enhancement, the Count column has changed to Reported in the following locations:
- In the Software_Evidence.csv dataset. For more information, see Export Files in the Flexera One Help.
- In a column on the IT Visibility Software Evidence page (Applications & Evidence > IT Visibility Software > Software Evidence). For more information, see Identifying Applications Using Evidence in the Flexera One Help.
Legacy Technopedia IDs in CSV files downloaded using the data export capability and IT Visibility Query API
This enhancement is available with IT Visibility.
This enhancement is applicable to the following users:
- IT Visibility users —Existing IT Visibility users having access to legacy Data Platform IDs in Technopedia are now able to access the same legacy IDs aligned with their inventory data in the CSV files downloaded using the IT Visibility Query API or and Export API, or the data export capability from the Flexera One user interface. For more information about the data export capability, see Exporting Data and Export Files.
- This enhancement enables the IT Visibility users who formerly used Data Platform to work with their inventory data seamlessly and facilitate update their usage to the recommended Flexera One Technopedia IDs.
- Data Platform users —Users coming from Data Platform to IT Visibility are now able to request access to legacy Technopedia IDs and the linked Flexera One Technopedia IDs in the CSV files downloaded using the IT Visibility Query API or the data export capability from the Flexera One user interface. This enables them to recognize what they have in IT Visibility and map it back to what they had in Data Platform, and update any downstream integration accordingly, ensuring a seamless and successful migration.
For information about downloading inventory export data from IT Visibility, see the following topics in the Flexera One Help: Exporting Data From IT Visibility, Exporting Data, and Export Files.
New Devices page gives ability to view software evidence by device
This feature is available with IT Visibility.
IT Visibility now provides you with the ability to view software evidence by device on a new Devices page (Inventory > IT Visibility Devices > Devices).
Previously, you could see that an application is installed on a particular device but could not see it in your Flexera One inventory. Now, with the added ability to see a specific device's software evidence on the Devices page, you can also see how it is handled (mapped to a software product or release, marked irrelevant, or still unrecognized), and can view all unrecognized evidence for governance purposes to better understand counts of different evidence linked to a specific product or release.
For more details about device evidence in IT Visibility, see Identifying Devices Using Evidence in the Flexera One.
SaaS Management
SaaS Management released the following enhancement in December 2023.
Streamlined ingestion of SaaS vendor data
This enhancement is available with SaaS Management.
The FSM Data Ingestion Utility now provides a workflow that enables data transformation rules to be configured for both the CSV and API ingestion methods. SaaS vendor data for user names and date formats can now be previewed and ingested without additional configuration.
With this release, we have also extended the coverage of authentication models that are supported, including auth token based authentication.
For further details, see the following Flexera One Help topics:
Technopedia
Technopedia released the following enhancement in December 2023.
Software Vulnerability Enrichment Pack data available for use in Technopedia UI
This enhancement pack is available with Technopedia.
This enhancement pack is only available for users who have the Flexera One Enrichment Pack entitlement. For more information, contact your account representative.
Enriched data about software vulnerability and threats associated with your normalized inventory gives directional insight and intelligence into your security risks. Using this enriched data, you can see the risks in deployed software and patch versions, which will help you prioritize your security response.
Previously, the software vulnerability enrichment data was only available in the Flexera One Technopedia API, but not in the Technopedia UI. Now, you can also access this enrichment data in the Flexera One Technopedia Vulnerability dashboard. For more information about how to use the Technopedia dashboards, see Technopedia Dashboards.
