May 2023
Flexera One introduced the following new features and enhancements this month.
Cloud Cost Optimization
Cloud Cost Optimization added the following new feature in May 2023.
Cloud budgets release
This feature is available with Cloud Cost Optimization.
Flexera One users can track their actual cloud spend against a cloud budget with Cloud Cost Optimization’s budget capabilities.
Budgets allow users to create a budget for a set period of time and see their cloud spend (as defined by a dimensions hierarchy) against that budget. Areas where budget does not exist for spend or where overspend exists are highlighted in the Budget Dashboard. Users can define one or more budgets, customize a budget’s date range to match their own fiscal calendar, and specify dimensions to use to group and structure how the budget data is shown.
For more information about creating, viewing, and editing budgets, see Cloud Budgets in Flexera One Help.

- Amazon Linux 2023
The following product versions have been added to the compatibility list of IT Asset Management with other products:

- EdgeSight for Citrix Virtual Apps (previously XenApp EdgeSight) 7.2303
For the full lists, see Prerequisite Software and Compatibility with Other Products in System Requirements and Compatibility.
Re-Verification for Oracle database and Fusion Middleware compliance
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
IT Asset Management and FlexNet inventory agent have been updated and re-verified by Oracle for Oracle database and Fusion Middleware compliance.
New support for bundle inventory collection from custom installation locations on Mac devices
This feature is available with IT Asset Management.
Previously, FlexNet inventory agent on Mac devices only collected bundle installation evidence from the standard /System and /Applications directories, which might lead to incomplete data collection if the bundles were installed at custom locations other than the standard directories.
From this release, FlexNet inventory agent supports custom installation locations and automatically collects bundle installation evidence from all installation locations on Mac devices.
IT Asset Requests
IT Asset Requests added the following enhancement in May 2023.
API gateway transition and Proxy App updates
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Requests.
As part of alignment across Flexera One, the API URL pointing to beta.api.flexera.com has been updated to api.flexera.com in IT Asset Requests and Proxy App.
Proxy App updates include the following:
- Updated API URL pointing
beta.api.flexera.comtoapi.flexera.comin the Proxy App for the NAM and EU regions. - Removed the Proxy App dependency on .NET Framework 4.6.1 to align with Microsoft’s lifecycle plans. (Microsoft plans to end-of-life .NET Framework 4.6.1 soon.)
- Provided a new Proxy App setup:
ITAR_Proxy_4.0.0.exe. This executable is available to download from the IT Asset Requests Connections page (IT Asset Requests > Portal Management > Connections) in Flexera One.
SaaS Management
SaaS Management added the following enhancements in May 2023.
Enabling a bearer token for API jobs within the FSM Data Ingestion Utility
This enhancement is available for SaaS Management.
The FSM Data Ingestion Utility now has the capability and workflow to allow for authentication with APIs that support an API bearer token. The bearer token authentication workflow can be used to schedule, import, and export API jobs within the FSM Data Ingestion Utility.
For details, see Scheduling API Jobs in FSM Data Ingestion Utility. For complete information about the utility, see Flexera SaaS Management Data Ingestion Utility in the Flexera One Help.
Sunsetting legacy SaaS integrations
This enhancement is available for SaaS Management.
As Flexera One continues to enhance its ServiceNow-related and Microsoft-related integrations with SaaS Management, Flexera is sunsetting the legacy integrations listed in this announcement and instructing customers to instead use the applicable Microsoft or ServiceNow integration.
On August 15, 2023, the SaaS integrations listed in the Integrations to be removed column of the following table will no longer be available when selecting Add Application on the Managed SaaS Applications screen. Use the integration listed in the second column as its replacement.
| Integrations to be removed | Select this integration instead |
|---|---|
| Dynamics 365 Dynamics 365 Client Credentials Office 365 Office 365 Client Credentials Power BI Power BI Client Credentials Project (Microsoft) Project Client Credentials (Microsoft) Visio Visio Client Credentials | Microsoft 365 or Microsoft 365 Client Credentials or Microsoft 365 Certificate Based Authentication |
| ServiceNow | ServiceNow Subscription Licensing |
| ServiceNow OAuth2 | ServiceNow OAuth2 Subscription Licensing |
Personal access token authentication and new integration task schedule for Tableau Online
This enhancement is available for SaaS Management.
Integrating Flexera One’s SaaS Management with Tableau Online now requires using a personal access token (PAT). To implement the Tableau personal access token authentication, there is a limit of one personal access token per concurrent request. For details, see the note within the Tableau Cloud Help topic Understand Personal Access Tokens. Due to this limitation, the SaaS Management integration with Tableau Online requires this new integration task schedule:
- License Information integration task will run at 5 AM UTC.
- Application Roster integration task will run at 6 AM UTC.
- Application Access integration task will run at 11 AM UTC.
Existing SaaS Management integrations with Tableau Online will fail because the authentication method has been updated from OAuth to personal access token authentication. To resolve this issue, you need to reauthorize the integration by generating a new personal access token as described in
For new SaaS Management integrations with Tableau Online, the integration tasks are not run instantly. After the integration is authorized, the integration tasks are run per the above schedule.
